A couple days ago, after writing this article for us on UKIP's Leave Campaign, Nikesh Shukla started the hashtag #ProudChildOfAnImmigrant.

He asked people to send him uplifting photos and stories of their parents/grandparents when they immigrated. It quickly gained popularity, and the hashtag began trending within hours.

Nikesh wanted to put faces to the conversation now that 'immigrant' has become a word void of all meaning - the faces behind each abusive comment slowly fading until it's a blur of people who 'don't look like us'.

Going through this hashtag, you see the beautiful faces, all the accomplishments and most importantly, all the love.
